This is kind of insane as a common. I don't think I'd ever play this without the ability and it trades up a 1 mana artifact that replaces itself with a 3-toughness creature at no cost! He's even a reasonable creature!

It does then give you deckbuilding constraints of needing cheap artifacts. You don't want to sacrifice Mindslaver for a Lightning Bolt (that often). Artillerize, Magma Rift and Collateral Damage were all bad. It may need to increase in cost or decrease in damage but sacrificing a whole other card is a pretty big deal. Especially if there aren't spellbombs.
