Note that all infinite combos with Vigorous Study also happen with this guy so he will need to be nerfed in a similar way.

Removing lifelink which makes this card "must build around" instead of super-strong + can be broken in the right deck. I think that's right. I've retired Vigorous Study in favor of this as it is more answerable.
