Is this completely broken at 2 damage? It's hard to Mindstorm for more than a single additional copy so that would put it at 4 for 2, better than Incinerate but you had to work for it. It would combo with looting charm (also a common) for 6 damage for 3 mana. But given that that is the combo rather than the normal outcome it seems better than 3 damage for 3 mana (i.e. worse than Incinerate) being the unusual but doable outcome. Could up the cost to 2R? But I like it low.

This might make it totally busted since you can spread it around multiple creatures and Mindstorming at least once should be pretty easy in a red deck.

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-02 07:48:01

Should it cost more and do 2, or cost R and do 1? 3 damage is about the top end if it does 1 so I'd say we can safely cost that at R.

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-02 08:10:03

I think R for 1 damage would be fine and it makes it more playable with spells that loot as well as creatures.

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-02 08:47:39

This seemed to be "too much work/mana for the big reward". Can we push it anyhow?

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-03 22:12:38

Howabout we revisit the 1r 2 damage version?

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-03 22:19:42

This worked well last night so we're leaving it as is for now. 2 damage definitely seems like it might be broken.

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-06 08:14:35

Just realised I might have slightly misplayed Mindstorm last night. In a turn where I cast Looting Charm, discarding 2 cards, and then Raid the Library discarding another 2, I Pageflamed for 7. (4 discards, 2 spells in gy, and 1 from Pageflame). On second read I shouldn't have counted the spells that went to the graveyard from the stack?

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-14 11:50:22

It should only count discards, not spells you cast. Aside from your rampant cheating I still wonder if this is a bit good. Maybe restrict to creatures only?

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-14 12:12:41

That's how Louis wanted to play it, too. I wonder if it should be "spells you cast and cards you discard" or if that just makes it more broken than Storm and kind of ridiculous.

No really interested in weakening this from the as-printed version. It's a key card!

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-14 12:19:16

This is very good but it's a key card and we like it. I think? I didn't enjoy "kill your guy, kill your guy, oh and I have one spare to your face" last night but it was probably fun on the other side of the table!

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-26 07:51:22

This was really awesome against multiple 1-toughness guys, but really terrible when one sat in my hand against Simon's board of 4-toughness monsters. This mostly seems to do 1-3 damage, which is totally fine.
