Switching to Portent to work better with the green reveal on attack theme

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-05-30 13:53:49

Considering I just mentioned that there are very few enchantments it is actually cooler to make this an Enchant Creature that you can some times cast at instant speed off a reveal

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-05-30 14:01:12

Portent timing works like Miracle and not like Temporal Aperture, then? What if I have a Seerlord of the Blue Tower in play? The top card of my library has Flash? It probably is better that way if we are going to have these Bear/Centaur reveal-on-attack cards unless all the G ones are going to be Instants.

Thomas Baker · 2012-05-30 14:50:23

Yes I think it has to be like Miracle, otherwise you can't cast anything off temporary reveal cards. If you have a permanent reveal card like Seerlord then I guess the Portent triggers in your draw step once you draw your card for the turn and flip over the new top card of your library. Potentially we could word Portent so it works in both ways? Triggered and Aperture style.

Adding flash so it can at least be a combat trick off a reveal.

Seemed pretty good without being busted.

Upping portent cost to match mana cost

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-06 16:13:06

Right now this seems too similar to the pump spell for both to be taking common slots.

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-08 11:50:42

True, and now that we are working with permanent reveals, this probably doesn't need the flash anymore.

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-08 13:01:18

Happy to scrap it in favor of the simpler pump, I thought you guys liked it better. Auras with Flash always seem a bit janky to me.

Thomas Baker · 2012-06-08 13:46:59

I like this more than the pump spell. Could possibly get away with reducing the cost by 1 and losing the trample?
