This started as a replacement/fix for Censure but could be its own card. Mana cost might be too high.

Isn't Tribal also a Type?

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-15 10:30:51

Mana cost a bit high, also it doesn't really seem very W as it's not symmetrical. Geddon, Wrath, Balance all do similar things but are even handed - this is just unfair. Maybe make it each player?

Paul Hodgson · 2012-06-15 14:24:05

uh I guess tribal is a type, though not relevant for our set.

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-15 15:38:46

I think the problem of making it affect all players equally is that it is harder to break the advantage compared to Balance, as it affects all the permanent types. Your right about the flavour though, as I can't really find anything in white that does something similar asymmetrically.

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-22 15:51:55

Not sure that this is ever really going to be good now it's symmetrical. The only things you can be really sure of getting are land and creature and it doesn't get rid of their biggest threat unless they only have one creature. Maybe add a Soulsong effect that if you gained life you can return all your own permanents destroyed this way? Or even return one of each type from your graveyard - not just the things you sac? Would possibly need a cost increase, though.

Kieran Symington · 2012-06-24 17:08:45

I like Kieran's idea, also kind of lines up with the splashy Portent rares in the other colours, instead White gets splashy Soulsong rare. I borrowed the formatting from All Sun's Dawn which is why it might look a bit clunky. Bumped the cost, but basically makes it miserable unless soulsonged, so maybe at 2WWW?

Simon O'Keeffe · 2012-06-25 08:58:51

So you almost never cast this without Soulsong but with Soulsong it's pretty good card advantage. I don't hate it in practice as much as I thought I would in theory.
