Transfigure seems like a good fit for our obligatory Spider. If they have no fliers you can get something more useful.

(Playtesting) Giant Spider's are still just great cards even with no other abilities. It is actually a little awkward this guy having Emerge as you often really don't want to lose him as his body and Reach are things you need on the board. I waited multiple turns until my Acolyte of Bry'zan was online so I could keep the Arach

I like that you have a real decision to make with Emerge guys who aren't ETB/LTB effects. Gives a real feeling of being able to upgrade the creature at the right point.

Would this make sense as a 2/3 instead? Give slightly more reason to ever Emerge him? I guess you will always Emerge him if you have a 5-drop bomb either way.
