Interesting. This is basically always Griptide and occasionally a cheap Griptide. Though why does the mechanic not just use colour rather than mana symbols? They are basically the same but colour allows for some colour manipulation effects.

Hmm good point, colour makes more sense. Now token creatures and stuff will also count. The ability is supposed to represent the will of the people. Costing these may be tricky I guess, have to make sure that at full reduction they are not ridiculous. Safe to assume they will always be with at least 1 and likely 2? I don't think a 3 mana Griptide is totally broken, but could easily switch it to a 3U unsummon, but that feels pretty bad even at full discount.

This is definitely interesting but do we want to encourage a UR wedge to have lots of permanents? No harm I suppose - this is limited.

Griptide is just an awesome card. Powerful and swingy but not unfair. It's a bit of aweird one to have Fatewarp because you are always going to want it but I guess costing 5 mana you might need to get rid of it to look for land?
