Another of these 'play no creatures' effects.

Discard then draw is much more red than blue I think. This guy could go in either colour and still be part of Idara (URG) wedge

Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-04-09 10:59:12

Completely templated this the wrong way! It makes most sense in blue - mostly because all three blue wedges have an ability that replaces casting creatures!

Kieran Symington · 2014-04-09 11:59:29

I like this guy but I'm coming around to Simon's idea that 1/1s are legit.

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-09 17:11:28

This would be worse than a normal looter as a 1/1 though!

Kieran Symington · 2014-04-09 17:50:01

Normal looters are pretty good, though! 2/1 is fine too.

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-09 18:41:16

Although I'm pretty sure I want this guy in any Husk deck but Husk is not in U. Time to swap GUB and BGW mechanics?

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-09 18:41:58

1/1s are totally legit. i beat Kieran the other day with a bunch of 1/1s and 0/1s against his board of fat Emerge guys. As for colour swap of abilites I'm not sure how well Emerge fits with BGW. It is certainly green and I can see the black side of sacrificing your own creatures for gain, but I don't see what is so white about it. White is more about the group than the individual, whilst black and blue are more selfish. Husk kind of makes more sense in white to me as a 'keeping the group strong through rebirth' kind of flavour. The answer would be to make the looter black so he fits in both wedges, but looting is not really a black mechanic, nor green for that matter.

Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-04-09 19:23:20

I agree with all your points but you can't deny that you'd want this guy in your 7 Husks deck all day every day. Could he discard to the bottom of your library? That actually might be pretty sweet for Emerge?

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-10 04:59:30

Am I now making this guy a GUB card instead of a URG card? Is that bad?

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-10 05:00:29

(Playtesting) This guy is sweet, obviously.

Thomas Baker · 2014-04-12 20:22:52

Killed this guy in preference to an Idaran Broodcaller that was about to Resound trigger. Obviously awesome.
