Wanted a targeted discard spell that wasn't completely useless later on and this was the best secondary ability I could come up with! You can always cast it at zero for the life-loss effect in an aggro deck.

What about making this "you *may* make them discard one of the revealed cards. If you don't you both lose 3 life"?
