Maybe pushing the power level a little for an uncommon, could easily push to 4R or to rare. Could even be 2RW?

This would be cool as a RW card. I like the way it suddenly gives you a good target for the Twin Searing Spear!
Kieran Symington · 2014-05-30 15:28:49
Holy crap this card is good.
Thomas Baker · 2014-06-02 09:15:26
After thinking about this it does seem pretty crazy. Attack with a 5 power guy and you end up taking 10 to the face! Just completely shuts down a ground attack I fear.
Kieran Symington · 2014-06-02 10:13:13
Surely you only take 5 to the face if they double block? Certainly understand power concerns. Would it be acceptable as a 3RW making two 1/1's, or does it then fall off too hard? Is it the size of the bodies, or just the Spitemare ability taht is too good?
Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-06-02 10:40:39
Yes, I didn't explain that too well - it does 10 but split over two turns! I don't think the size makes much difference, it's the fact that this ability is really good to have on two guys and is basically a double lava axe or just shuts down all attacks. The more expensive version might be okay though. Probably will need testing!

Upping casting cost as a minimum change for now
Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-06-02 11:56:47
I like the card. We can test it to get the right cost/stats.
Thomas Baker · 2014-06-03 08:30:08
Okay this is really strong. I think we have a few options here: 1) bump to rare and probably leave stats as they are 2) drop the stats of the creatures to be 1/1 or 0/2 and keep the casting cost, although this might just make it a totally average card 3) keep the stats but change the cost. At 4RW it affects the board much later, and to be honest I don't think that fits well with RWU being the aggro wedge
Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-06-08 09:21:51
The problem with this card, I think, is that it's not fun. It's not fun because it doesn't really help you win it just means your opponent can never attack on the ground again. After I made a total of six of these (raise dead and clone) tonight I don't think Kieran is going to let it in the set :)
Thomas Baker · 2014-07-17 21:36:50
I certainly understand it is problematic, and actually being a board stally defensive card is probably not ideal for a Twin rare, but Spitemare ability is some cool red/white shared pie, and I don't think we want every card in a wedge to be focused on that wedges main gameplan (in this instance RWU=aggro). All that being said I won't fight to keep this card if people decide they don't like it.
Simon O'Keeffe · 2014-07-18 11:27:29
I think the ability has a place in R/W for sure, putting it on Twin in a set with some amount of bounce/recursion though is a bit much though. Question is - does the ability belong in the set, and at this rarity, or do we need a new twin rare?
Paul Hodgson · 2014-07-18 12:59:34
Thought - maybe stick the ability onto an instant that targets creature & all with the same name?
Paul Hodgson · 2014-07-18 12:59:59
If this didn't also hit creatures it might be a little more bearable. As it is it can take out any two attackers so it completely shuts down the ground.
